The new production facilities of Rolex address several structural and technical challenges to provide a functional multi-storey industrial building in a short construction time. The great flexibility of the floor layouts is combined with a careful planning of the building’s technical workflow.
These criteria were decisive in the design process of the building as a complex system. The structure combines steel and concrete in an ingenious way: the inverted truss steel beams which also support the ducts are combined with the prefabricated concrete slabs to fulfill the acoustic and structural requirements.
