The Flâneur d'Or, awarded by Pedestrian Mobility Switzerland with the support of the Federal Roads Office, recognizes exemplary pedestrian projects in Switzerland.
The school building acts as a link between the park of Trembley and those of Beaulieu and Cropettes. The longitudinal building stretches over 167 m and reflects the various school programs. The load-bearing structure is made of in-situ reinforced concrete and possesses some unique features, like deep beams supporting the rooftop over the sport fields at the first floor.
The large spans of the fields and the 10m-long classrooms are achieved using precast roof slabs with prestressed ribs. The school complex is located at the heart of a vast park of more than 5'000 m2.
