The new footbridge is an integral part of the ambitious "Rayon Vert" project. The 130m-long structure links the North and South squares of the Renens station, spanning over 7 railway tracks, the metro and the new tram lines. The architectural project unfolds its organic appearance through the peculiar geometry, the structure and the vegetative cover.
The lateral steel trusses are inspired to the branches of a tree balancing each other according to the principle of the polygon of forces. These branches connect the lower and upper chords of the structural system an create a comfortable and pleasant pathway.
